More great discoveries from Superstar Avenue

In the last 2 weeks, almost every night when I returned home after work, the most relaxing leisure activity was listening to the songs of my favourite singers from the Superstar Avenue.

Just found 2 more great songs sung by 黃美珍 in the competition. For the song "不愛你", not until I listened to the original version did I noticed the 黃美珍 & 盧學叡 pair indeed gave the song a new refreshing spirit as compared to the original version. For the song "Don't Speak", again, a very good pick which was certainly my cup of tea. Setting aside the pronounciation, my opinion is 美珍's singing standard was comparable to the original version.

Equally impressive, the young folk 林宥嘉, who is only 20 years old, won the championship in the 1st quarter competition. Initially, he did not catch my attention since I was overwhelmed by the other outstanding contestants. However, as I listened more of his singing and choices of song, I just could not help absorbed by the way he interpreting the song. The depth and potential in this kid are still yet to fully reached. After listening to the 2 songs that he sang in the competition final "Creep" and "Last Order" many times, I have not yet listen enough of it. Particularly for "Last Order", I like his version better than Eason Chan's version.

Although 蕭敬騰 was not one of the contestants, his powerful expressive voice in the challenger session 踢館挑戰賽 has captured the hearts of huge number of audience in Taiwan and many other Asian countries. Believe it or not, he only sang 3 times on the TV show and his fame immediately surpassed all the contestants. At the age of 20, his performances were as good as many of the current professional singers if not well above. I recalled after he sang 背叛 in the challenger section, the host of the show commented "既生瑜,何生亮". In that round, he defeated the top contestant 楊宗緯. If I can use one word to describe his voice, I'd say "attractive" (coz full of emotions). If I can use a 2nd and 3rd words, I'd say "massive" (coz reaching extensive volume) "spacious" (coz flowing freely and with much room to include more).
