Count down
Time does matter. Last year, in T.S.T., I arrived less than one hour before midnight of New Year's Eve, so failed to squeeze into the crowd to watch the firework shot from IFC II.
Therefore, this year, Shir and I got there 1.5 hours early to try our luck. Yeah, finally, we could make it, even though only part of IFC II was within our sight. At the corner of Peninsula next to Nathan Road, we saw no hope getting any further toward the shore, so picked a street corner and climbed on a raised platform at the foot of Sheraton, then sat there waiting. The crowd kept growing.
We missed the countdown, because there was no broadcasting and the view of the number displayed on IFC II was blocked. Anyway, we knew 2009 arrived as soon as the fireworks began which were greater, and more colourful and lively than expected. What a wonderful start for the New Year, well, at least I had one small goal accomplished - watching firework! Might not be a big deal but it was certainly an activity for keeping a young heart and being interested in life (and staying out of depression or any negative thoughts / emotions).
The crowd grew quickly right after we arrived.
People had their cameras ready to capture the splendid moment.
